CLS Construction took another step towards becoming a DACS approved contractor for the Durisol block today, having completed a Durisol training day on a site in Horsham. A few of the team went to get some hands on experience with the new product in a live environment at a school project in Horsham.
The training course covered both theoretical and practical elements, including the following:
- Site preparation for a Durisol delivery
- Ways to minimise scaffold use during construction
- Foundation requirements
- A guide to reinforcement configuration, although this will only be a guide, as structural engineers will be responsible for specifying requirements.
- Marking out prior to commencement of build
- Laying out the first course to ensure levels are maintained
- Practical demonstration of cutting forms to allow concrete flow
- Practical guide to modifying wall forms to ensure stacking configuration is correct
- How to create radii
- Creating openings using Durisol wall forms to form an integral lintel
- Installing ducts for services
- Chasing out for services
- Fixing to Durisol
- Installing flooring
- Tools required
