Nov 2009 Durisol DACS training

CLS Construction took another step towards becoming a DACS approved contractor for the Durisol block today, having completed a Durisol training day on a site in Horsham. A few of the team went to get some hands on experience with the new product in a live environment at a school project in Horsham.

The training course covered both theoretical and practical elements, including the following:

  • Site preparation for a Durisol delivery
  • Ways to minimise scaffold use during construction
  • Foundation requirements
  • A guide to reinforcement configuration, although this will only be a guide, as structural engineers will be responsible for specifying requirements.
  • Marking out prior to commencement of build
  • Laying out the first course to ensure levels are maintained
  • Practical demonstration of cutting forms to allow concrete flow
  • Practical guide to modifying  wall forms to ensure stacking configuration is correct
  • How to create radii
  • Creating openings using Durisol wall forms to form an integral lintel
  • Installing ducts for services
  • Chasing out for services
  • Fixing to Durisol
  • Installing flooring
  • Tools required
  • General tips and advice
